Zamfara state government has reiterated its commitment to sustain the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) as well as the safety of corps members posted to the state for their one-year mandatory service.
The assurance was announced by the state governor, Bello Muhammad at the swearing in ceremony of 2020 Batch B (stream 1A) corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC permanent orientation camp Tsafe, assured them of his administration readiness to protect their safety throughout their period of staying in the state.
The governor was represented by the speaker state House of Assembly, Rt Hon Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, described the scheme as an instrument of national integration and avenue of providing highly skilled and resourceful human resource to communities in the state, assured that everything humanly possible will be done to sustain the scheme.
In a statement by the Director General Press Affairs and Public Relations, Zamfara state house of assembly, Mustapha Jafaru Kaura and made available to Hotpen, said the governor further maintained that corps members are partners in progress of the state and have contributed immensely in impacting to the lives of the people in key sectors of the economy such as education, Health and Agriculture in the past, and hoped that such gesture will be maintained by the present batch of the corps members deployed to the state.
While assuring the corps members that the state is free from Covid-19 pandemic for many months, he advised them to adhere to the recommendations and protocols set up by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) as precautionary measures, said all hands will be on deck to ensure the wellbeing, safety where ever they might be posted as their primary assignment.
In his welcome address, the state NYSC Co-ordinator, Alhaji Na-Malam Taura assured the governor that the present crop of corps members deployed to the state are much more determined and resilient to serve the good people of the state, while congratulating the corps members for successfully completing their academic pursuit which eminently qualified them to be mobilized, the state Co-ordinator urged them to consider their posting to the state as a divine favor considering Zamfara as young and vibrant state with full of potentialities suitable for corps members .
Alhaji Na-Malam Taura commended the foresight of the state governor Bello Muhammad for having NYSC in his heart by awarding contract for the construction of roads network and drainages in the orientation camp which according to him will ease the perennial flooding being experienced annually in the camp.
