There was a mixed reaction and confusion following the absent of some heavy political weights of the All-Progressives Congress in Jigawa state during a caucus meeting of the party convened to patches fences with a view at blocking the existing cracks in the party.
The APC caucus meeting was chaired by Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to steadfastness the differences with some party chieftains, before the meeting there were speculations that some key members of the ruling party might have been penciled down for suspension from the party due to various allegations ranging from alleged sabotage, anti-party and indiscipline.
Those absent include Senator Mohammed Sabo Nakudu, Representing Jigawa North-Central, Jigawa APC leader, Honourable Farouk Adamu Aliyu, the State Assembly Speaker, Honourable Idris Garba, former Deputy Governor Alhaji Ahmed Mahmoud, Alhaji Yusuf Maitama Bello among others.
The meeting presided over by Governor Badaru himself took place Sunday night behind closed doors at the Government House Dutse, Jigawa state capital, journalists were barred from covering the meeting and no communique or statement on the outcome of the meeting was issued to journalists.
Before now, it was rumoured that Senator Nakudu has indicated interest in running for the governorship seat come 2023 and because of that, the relationship between the governor and the senator became sore, resulting in the exchange of unpleasantry words among the duo supporters in various media organizations.
Contacted on the development, the State Acting APC Chairman, Alhaji Muhammed Umar explained that the state had some appointments lately at the federal government which they felt it was necessary to summon the meeting to enable them know themselves better.
