A philanthropist, Nuhu Baba, Youth Initiative for Sustainable Development (YISD) partnered for the enrollment of 220 Pupils among the Internally Displaced Person (IDP) returnees in the three communities Ambiya Tasha, Sharhori and Gujba town of Gujba Local Government Area of Yobe State.
Educational materials were given to the School pupils to encourage their participation in western education despite set back posed by the dreaded Boko Haram insurgents.
In his address, the Executive Director Youth Initiative for Sustainable Development (YISD), Ibrahim Baba Mohammed commended the efforts and contributions of Nuhu Baba (Zanna Saloma of Gujba) “for supporting the people of Gujba communities by enrolling 220 Pupils to School and at the same time complimenting and actualizing the effort of His Excellency the Executive Governor of Yobe State Hon. Mai Mala Buni ‘Emergency on Education’.
Flagging off the distribution, the Chairman of the launching who is the Commissioner Ministry of Humanitarian and Disaster Management represented by the Director Disaster Management, Bulau Aisami Geidam thanked the donor for the support to the Vulnerable Communities “we thank you so much for the intervention, this will go a long way in improving the children school enrollment and encouraging them”.
He appealed to other well-meaning individuals to emulate the gesture as part of partnership with the government efforts in developing the educational standard of the state, commended Governor Mai Mala Buni for declaring the state of emergency on education and holding education summit.
District Head of Katarko, Mustapha Mai Muktar expressed gratitude for the support and appealed on the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the materials.
