*As NUC receives New VC, Prof. Abdulkarim

The Executive Secretary, National Universities Commission, Prof. Abubakar Adamu Rasheed has described the outgoing Vice-Chancellor Federal University Dutse, Prof. Fatima Batul Mukhtar, as an excellent academician, a great scientist, a great woman, and an excellent university administrator.
He made the commendation when the outgoing Vice Chancellor paid a courtesy call on the Executive Secretary to introduce the incoming VC, Prof. Abdulkarim Sabo Muhammed.
Prof. Rasheed said the quantum of projects executed by Prof. Fatima as well as the expansion of academic programs in the last five years are a living testimony of the huge success she recorded during her tenure.
Prof Rasheed explained that even Prof. Fatima has lost count of the number of times she visited Abuja and the number of offices she went to seeking for one form of assistance or the other for the university.
According to him, Prof. Fatima is a great scientist because he was the one who promoted her to the rank of Professor because of the high quality of her papers. He congratulated her for the successful completion of her tenure while praying to Allah to guide her in her future endeavors.
The ES also congratulated Prof. Abdulkarim for his appointment as the new VC of the university, adding that NUC and the Governing Council will give him all the necessary support to succeed. He said Prof. Abdulkarim’s tenure as DVC has exposed him to the rigors of university administration, added that the experience will make things easier for him.
Prof. Rasheed told the incoming VC that his long exposure to academic activities in United Kingdom and Malaysia will be of great help. He urged him to blend his international exposure with home grown solution to succeed.
Meanwhile, the Chairman House Committee on Tertiary Education and TETFUND, Hon. Aminu Suleiman Goro, has congratulated the outgoing VC for the successful completion of her tenure. He described her as a hardworking and result oriented VC who made huge impact in Federal University Dutse.
Hon. Goro also congratulated the incoming VC, Prof. Abdulkarim and promised to work with him to realize his vision for the university.
In her remark, Prof. Fatima thanked Prof. Rasheed for his guidance, mentorship and support in the last five years without which she could not have achieved the success she recorded during her tenure.
The incoming VC also thanked the NUC for their support and promised to always tap from their wealth of experience as he takes over the mantle of leadership of FUD.
