Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar has approved about N23million for the third extra coaching program in favor of Senior Secondary 3 final year students.
The Executive Secretary of the state Agency for Mass Education, Dr Abbas Abubakar Abbas made this known while briefing coordinators of the extra coaching of the final year students in Mathematics and English language held at Dutse, Jigawa state capital.
He said the program was introduced by Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar in 2019 with a view to enable Jigawa students get the required credits for admission into Universities and other tertiary Institutions.
Dr Abbas explained that 33,850 final year students will benefit from the program while 400 facilitators each for English and Mathematics as well as 167 coordinators and monitoring team will participate in the program.
The E S stated that the briefing was to guide, assist, and inform the stakeholders in the extra coaching on the confidence reposed on them to do what is expected of them.
In his presentation the Director General state Inspectorate and Monitoring Units, Mallam Abdullahi Yunusa said three centers were designated for the teacher`s capacity building program.
In his contribution the Director Jigawa Educational Resource Department, Alhaji Hassan said with the introduction of the program and the number of students that passed WAEC and NECO has increased.
Some of the participants have expressed their willingness to contribute immensely towards the success of the program.
