Jigawa state government has announced its plan to establish a Covid-19 mobile task force committee with a view to punish those who violated the Covid-19 protocols.
Governor Muhammed Badaru Abubakar disclosed this while briefing newsmen at Government House, Dutse the state capital, said the decision follows the passage of Presidential order on Covid-19 to safeguard the lives of its citizens.
The action according to the governor became necessary following the second wave outbreak of Covid-19 pandemic in the country, warned that a six-month jail term or N5,000 fine awaits anyone arrested violating the COVID-19 protocols.
Badaru explained that the state Government will not hesitate to punished anybody found violating Covid-19 protocols across the state.
His words:- “People must strictly abide by presidential order on second wave of Covid-19 pandemic or face a six month jail term or five thousand naira fine”.
Badaru Abubakar advised people in the state to abide with the pandemic protocol which include, wearing of face mask, social distancing, limitation of outdoor meetings, and indoor meetings which must not exceed the capacity of 50 participants.
Said he:- “People of the state must continue observing Covid-19 prevention protocols at places of work, social, religious and political gatherings or faced full wrath of the law.”
Vanguard reports that from 8th of April 2020 when the first case was discovered in Jigawa state 480 cases were detected positive out of which 13 person died.
