Kano State House of Assembly has pledged to work hand in hand with the management of KAROTA and leadership of tricycles riders and owners in the state to bring sanity in the services and operational system of Adaidaita Sahu for efficiency and better productivity.
The Speaker, Kano State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Engineer Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari made this known during a round table meeting with the Managing Director Kano Road and Traffic Agency Hon Baffa Babba Dan Agundi,Chairman NLC Comrade Kabiru Ado Minjibir, Chairman Civil Society Forum,Comrade Ibrahim Wayya,Chairman Forum of Tricycles riders of Kano state Comrade Mansur Tanimu today at the State Assembly Lobby to discussed on the motion which call on KAROTA to stop registration of new Tricycles as a means of ensuring harmonious understanding for better service and as well as map out strategies for Tricycles routes and also call on the government to procured more metro buses to ease transportation problems within metropolis.
In a statement made available to Hotpen by the Comrade Uba Abdullahi, Press Secretary to the Hon Speaker, Hon Hamisu Ibrahim Chidari said the operations and services of Tricycles needs much attention to bring sanity to the system stressing that so many negativities are been committed with Tricycles ranging from cellphone snatching, traffic violations and many immoralities hence the House direct KAROTA to stop registering new Tricycles to bring sanity in their mode of operations and commended the stakeholders for the roles they play in ensuring peaceful coexistence.
Speaker Chidari similarly said that the House direct KAROTA to stop the registration of new Tricycles as a means of controlling and sanitizing the operations of the Tricycles in the state,he also said that on the need for the elongation of the two weeks time frame for Tricycles registration as presented by the forum chairman said the House committee on transportation is working tirelessly on the issue.
In his speech the Managing Director of KAROTA Hon. Baffa Babba Dan Agundi said they are at the House to honour the directives of the House to stop registration of new Tricycles and commended the Speaker and Honourable Members for their utmost concern on the socio-economic development in the state.
Also speaking the the Chairman of the Civil Society forum in the State Comrade, Ibrahim Wayya said the initiatives is a well come development and thanks the House for their deep concern on matters of public interest and as well thanks the forum of Tricycles for their understanding in addressing the issue at stake.
While delivering his speech the State Chairman of the forum of Tricycles, Comrade Mansur Tanimu said the forum is fully satisfied with the fatherly intervention of the Honourable House and assured them of the forum utmost support to bring sanity in the services of Tricycles in the State.
Comrade Mansur Tanimu appealed to the House to reconsider the time frame of two weeks within which ever member of the forum should complete his registration stressing that there is need for elongation of the time to allow for all members to be fully registered
