The State Emergency Management Agency, (SEMA) Jigawa state has disbursed leftover material to over 30,000 people affected by year 2020 flood.

The Director of Operations, Alhaji Sabo Ibrahim disclosed this to Newsmen in his office on behalf of the SEMA Secretary Malam Sani Yusif Babura, said the material distributed including spraying chemicals, rice seedlings, and beans as well as red pepper in a bid to encourage the farmers who lost their farm produce during the 2020 rain season.

He explained that the 30,000 farmers who benefited from this support were drawn from 20 out of the 27 LGA, added that the Jigawa State Government will also assist fire outbreak victims which have 212 people who have been shortlisted.

Sani Babura stated that the short-listed individuals were drawn from 12 local government areas of the state and that all the necessary arrangements have been made by the agency, while it is now waiting for the final approval from the state government.

According to him the sum of N12, 956,110 are to be distributed among 212 victims depending on the nature of each damage, called on the people especially those in the remote areas to always be careful when and after using fire.
