The Emir of Damaturu in Yobe State, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Shehu Hashimi II has turbaned Hajja Fanta Yusuf as ‘Ya Mogorom’ of Damaturu, the head of all women affairs of the emirate council as part of gender equality and inclusiveness and four others.
Others turbaned were Engr. Muhammad Shehu Hashimi as District Head of Murfa Kalam, Alhaji Abba Barma Shehu Hashimi, District Head of Sasawa, Abba Umar Shehu Hashimi as Village Head of Kasaisa and Dauda Kolo also as Village Head of Dungurum.
The Emir, shortly after the turbaning, charged the new title holders to justify the confidence reposed on them by promoting peace and unity within the emirate council and beyond.
His words:-“It is expected that the title holders will discharge their roles as community leaders by promoting peace and unity within the emirate and entire the state”.
He also urged her to contribute in giving useful advice in order to move the emirate forward and commended Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni for execution of developmental projects in the state.
