As Boko Haram Insurgency lingers on day four in Geidam Town of Yobe State, residents have continued to flee the town for safety of their lives and properties.
A resident of Geidam town, Malam Yakubu told our correspondent today that he narrowly escaped from Geidam to Nguru and iam sure most of the Geidam people fleeing to Neighbouring Local Government and beyond.
Said he:-“We relocated from our ancestral homes due to incessant attacks by Boko Haram gunmen terrorising our communities while in search of food items and other valuables respectively”
“Our people are suffering, trekking a long distance to get a vehicle while those without money continue to trek in the bush, we are appealing to all the relevant stakeholders to act immediately in order to save Geidam Town from total capture by the Insurgents fot atleast four days”.
According to him, the migrants have so far settled in areas which includes Tarmuwa, Bursari, Bade, Damaturu and Potiskum local government areas of Yobe State as well as neighboring Communities of Bukarti, Yunusari among others.
Malam Yakubu also said that, he don’t even see his wives and some of his children up till now, because the time when he intend to escape he try as much as he can do to find where they are but unfortunately he couldn’t.
