*Set to Inaugurate Management Committee for National Dialogue

A Coalition of Civil Society has appointed Alh. Lawan M. T. Adamu, from Kazaure Local Government Area of Jigawa State as Chairman, Management Committee for the proposed National Dialogue On: Ethics & Values, Peace Building & Good Governance “NDEVPBGG Project”.
This was contained in a press statement issued in Abuja, Monday, by Ambassador Benedict N. Opara, the Chief Convener/Director, Administration & Communications, for the National Dialogue Project (NDP).
Lawan M T Adamu from Kazaure royal family until his recent assignment, served as the National Chairman of the Peoples Party of Nigeria (PPN), during the 2015 general elections.
According to the statement, the National Dialogue Project, on the theme: Building An Ethically Responsive Society, – The Strategic Roles of Leaders & Institutions is a civil society driven initiative targeted at helping the Federal Government to address very urgent and critical issues bordering on leadership and governance, religious and ethnic, socio-economic and political differences in the country.
Ambassador Benedict revealed that the National Dialogue Project (NDP), which is currently being carried out under the umbrella name of the National Coalition of Civil Society On: Ethics & Values, Peace Building & Good Governance “NCCSEVPBGG” became necessary due to, “the current spate of insecurity, divisive tendencies, treats to national security, sustainable development and fabrics of the Nigerian society, coupled with the public outcries and yearnings for a round-table to address several issues of national socio-economic and political interests.
He emphasized that the National Coalition will as part of its principal mandate, particularly focus on:-
- Carrying out campaigns and programmes targeted at creating a stronger foundation for national unity and integration.
- Promote sound moral values, social sanity, leadership and integrity and restore the cultural values and good ethics of the Nigerian society, in addition to encouraging respect for rules of the Law.
It further revealed that the governing structure and composition of the National Coalition was carefully designed and planned to provide an equitable distribution and representations from the socio-religious, academic, the profession and geo-political spheres of the country and leadership expertise, in line with good corporate governance and global best practice standards.
The group in a move to actualize its set-out mandate has proposed to soon inaugurate the Project Management Committee (PMC) and also, hold a one-day Global Sustainable Development Ambassadors’ Forum, on the theme: Toward Ensuring A Peaceful & Prosperous Society. The event will culminate in the Presidential Unveiling, Launching and Inauguration of the National Dialogue Project and it has been fixed to hold in Abuja, the Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory in the month of September 2021,.
In a related development, music they say “is one of the key instruments for the propagation of peace, love and unity” and so, the group have identified and adopted a musical artiste with the brand name Father Johnwell Peterside Jnr. & De Legends whose national tribute album titled LET’S UNITE and trending track OUR FALLEN HEROES has become a House-Hold Anthem and is currently making front page news in the social media, as official artiste and song for the National Dialogue project.
