Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, the governor of Kebbi State, has expressed satisfaction with the peaceful conduct of the APC ward congresses across the state and the country.
The Governor made the statement while speaking to party supporters shortly after the leaders of Nasarawa 2’s new ward, his ward in the state, affirmed it. The Chairman of the APC Governors’ Forum also reaffirmed his belief in the efficacy of the party’s successful consensus strategy in today’s election. He also expressed his admiration for Nigeria’s judicial system in dispensing justice.
“History has just repeated itself,” he continued, “as we have used consensus on several occasions and it has worked well. “As a result, we are not surprised that the strategy has come in handy again in Kebbi”. He stated his case.
All hands must be on deck, according to the governor, to make Kebbi State and Nigeria more united and socioeconomically prosperous. Bagudu went on to say that God can give leadership to anyone He wants and at His own time. “As it stands now, only Almighty Allah knows who will succeed me or President Muhammadu Buhari,” he declared.
Bagudu acknowledged that Buhari’s and his administration’s commendable policies and programs were paying off. According to him, he and Buhari will do more in this direction to improve the living standards of Nigerians and the people of Kebbi. He went on to say that the Federal Government’s planned rail line from Zamfara to Sokoto and Kebbi will help the state develop.
Earlier, Alhaji Abubakar Nayaya, Chairman of the Kebbi State Local Government Service Commission, a stakeholder in Nasarawa 2, and Alhaji Nasiru Kalli, former Chairman of Nasarawa 2, welcomed the committee sent by the APC National Secretariat to monitor the state’s ward congresses. Kalli explained how all stakeholders were involved in reaching a consensus agreement.
Bello lauded Governor Bagudu’s accomplishments in the state and pledged the ward excos’ complete devotion to him. Murtala Umar, the newly elected ward chairman of Nasarawa 2, expressed gratitude to the people of the ward for their trust in him. He promised to bring everyone along and to work tirelessly with his members to ensure the party’s success.
Governor Bagudu, stakeholders, and party members were praised for cooperation, solidarity, and working together for the party’s progress, according to Dr. Osita Okechukwu, the leader of the monitoring committee sent by the APC National Secretariat from Abuja.
