The MAIKOLI FARM a subsidiary of MAIKOLI FOUNDATION has provided two thousand moringa seedlings to the State Zakat & Waqf (Endowment) Commission, Sokoto State.
Presenting the seedlings, the Chairman MAIKOLI FOUNDATION, Alh. Altine Shehu Kajiji noted the gesture was meant to complement the commission efforts in promotion of tree waqf initiative in the north and beyond.
According to him, the gesture was equally deliberately timed to coincide with World Humanitarian Day being observed on 17th August annually. He particularly expressed deep appreciation to the executive chairman SOZECOM, Malam Muhammad Lawal Maidoki Sadaukin Sakkwato whom he described as very inspirational and instrumental to establishment of farm.
His words:-“The economic potential tree Waqf if properly harnessed would no doubt lift many communities out of poverty line”.
Earlier in a vote of thanks, the Executive Chairman SOZECOM, praised the foresight of Shehu MAIKOLI FOUNDATION for the donation, noted that it was the first Foundation in the state to have complemented his commission is this regard.
Malam Muhammad Maidoki therefore assured of his readiness to welcome any organization seeking similar collaboration in boosting the culture of tree waqf in the state, he then announced that all the two thousand moringa seedlings would be planted in some districts across the state as waqf gesture.
The occasion which held at the SOZECOM seedlings nursery was witnessed by SOZECOM directors, Foundation Deputy Chairman Malam Buhari Alhaji Dagara, Partnership & Strategy Officer Aliyu Ababakar, journalists as well as some staff of the commission.
