The Nigeria Union of Journalists Bauchi State Council’s has conferred the ‘Most Progressive Assembly Award’ to Bauchi State House of Assembly
Right, the award is being presented to the Speaker of the Assembly. Honorable. During the NUJ Award Presentation and Magazine Launching Ceremony, which took place today at Command Guest House Bauchi, Abubakar Y Suleiman, along with his colleagues, said the 9th Assembly of Bauchi State has made tremendous achievements within two years of inauguration.

According to the Union, the Assembly has put party differences aside and worked for the development of Bauchi State, which has resulted in the various accomplishments recorded by Governor Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad.
“The Assembly, led by Rt. Hon. Abubakar Y Suleiman has a common desire for positive change, which informed the decision of the 31 Members to put party differences aside, embrace one another, and put the interests of the State first.”
“The 9th Assembly performed admirably in its functions of lawmaking, appropriation of funds to all MDAs, oversight of all MDA activities, and representation of various constituencies. That is made possible by the good leadership qualities of Bauchi State Executive Governor Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammad, a former legislator himself who holds the legislative arm in high regard.” The Union elaborated.

The NUJ attributed the successes and mutual relationship between the rancor free Assembly and the executive to the principle of inclusive governance, which the executive arm operates by aligning with the legislature in policy formulation and execution, resulting in mass road constructions, housing schemes, water supply, improved security, better education, agriculture, and the general well-being of the people.
Receiving the award on behalf of Bauchi State’s 9th Assembly, Speaker Abubakar Y Suleiman expressed the legislative arm’s gratitude to NUJ for the prestigious award, which he said motivates them to do more for the State.
