Iiked by the recent crime rate appears to be on the increase, Jigawa state police command has organized an intelligent-led-raid code named “Operation flush out’ resulted in the arrest of 14 notorious kidnappers.
Briefing newsmen at the police headquarters, the commissioner of police, Aliyu Sale Tafida said the operation was carried out during one of the operations in three criminal hideouts added that combined team of security personnel undertake the operations.
CP Aliyu Sale explained that three criminal hideouts include Dajin Maizuwo, Dan Gwanki and Yandamo village all in Sule tankarkar local government area of the state were raid, streesed that exhibits items recovered include 3 AK-47 rifles, 9 magazines and 308 live ammunition of 7.6mm, one burnt GPMG, 1 Toyota Hilux Hummer Bus.
Others include 9 motorcycles, one cutlass, 6 different handsets with 9 batteries, 12 SIM cards, 5 Card memories and cash worth N2,070,000.00 (Two million seventy thousand naira only) suspected to be ransom fee collected from various people for the release their relatives.
According to him:- “During the raid of the three criminal hideouts ten male and four female suspects were arrested, two of the suspects sustained injuries as a result of exchange of fire while several others escape with various of degree of injuries”.
He disclosed that, the security personnel during the raid successful rescue unhurt one Hadiza Alhaji Chadi 20 year old married woman of Marwa village in Kirikasamma local government area.
His words:-“Among the rifles recovered, two were carted away from our police officer killed over the weekend at Kwalam village in Taura local government while responding to a distress call and one of the recovered motorcycles belong to one Abdu Isah Sajo, Commander of Yanbulala local security out-fit who was shot dead early this week”.
The CP thanked journalists for their partnership with the Jigawa state command in it’s ongoing fight against all form of crimes and criminality, appreciated all the security agencies for their collaboration and energy.
