Support Orphans’ Education, Skill Acquisition Programs, Don Urges Gov’t, Others

HOTPEN – A University Don, Dr. Abdullahi Nuhu Maikudi of the Department of Applied Science from Kaduna State University, (KASU) has called on the government at various levels and other philanthropists to support orphans with Education and Skills acquisition Programs to cushion the agony of losing parents, growing up without sound education and a job to cater for their bills.
Dr. Maikudi Nuhu who is also a traditional title holder, of Banagan Tudun Wadan Kaduna, further said “through different skills acquisition Programs, the Orphans will survive the hardship encountered after the demise of their parents.
The Don was speaking in Kaduna, when Abakwa Orphanage Foundation, distributed Sallah Foodstuffs to Widows, Orphans, and other less privileged in the Society.
Dr. Nuhu Abdullahi further explains that these children are our children there is a need for us to consider them in all our programs and activities.
He called for wealthy individuals and Philanthropists in the society to always assist the orphans with the little they could and earn an abundance of rewards from Almighty Allah.
Earlier speaking, the Chairman of Akwa Orphanage Foundation, Mallam Abubakar lmam, said” Abakwa Orphanage foundation was formed to assist orphans in Abakwa Community, by sponsoring some of them to schools and organizing vocational training for them in a bid to stem the menace of unemployment among the orphans.
Mallam Abubakar lmam opined that this year as you can see we are giving out foodstuff and Sallah clothes to almost 900 Orphans and Widows in this community to share with them the spiritual love brought by this month of Ramadan.
