The Third Eye
When I insist on honouring Ambassador Ahmad Abdulhamid Malam Madori in my writings, not a few of my friends agreed that the revered diplomat, distinguished and renowned politician deserved the honour.
As Ahmad Malam Madori is clocking his 62nd anniversary, no doubt, there would be a lot to celebrate in the life of this distinguished Senator to be Amb. Malam Madori before now has played significant roles in the political and economic development roles of the people of Hadejia Senatorial Area.
Ahmadu came to stardom in 1993, when he left civil service to join partisan politics and be elected as a national assembly member representing Malam Madori/ Kaugama on the platform of the Social Democratic Party (SDP). The time Malam Madori became an indispensable voice on the floor of the green chamber, as whatever he said with the support of young brain likes of Alhassan Ado Doguwa and Hon. Bashir Machina, always influenced government policies.
Hon Ahmad Abdulhamid turned to aim at the executive arm of government when he joined Ahmad Alkali Gumel to run as his deputy in their hope to govern Jigawa state. He was later appointed as Minister of power and steel, during the time of Olusegun Obasanjo led PDP government, after serving as Chairman Federal Character Commission. The PDP government was driven by unalloyed patriotism of Ahmad and found succor in him, the reason why he was drafted as a member of federal diplomats international and made him full-scale Ambassador to represent Nigeria in Istanbul Turkey.
As Nigerian head of mission in the Middle East, Malam Madori made many vociferous cries for the overhauling of our international relations, in order to restore it to it’s traditional standard, the effects of his advocacy across the middle east change the narratives which served as testimonies of his diplomatic acumen.
Amb. Malam Madori, a former staff of Hadejia Jama`are River Basin Development Authority, who became a politician of repute, is a fellow of Oxford Business School London, an indigene of Jigawa state from Malam Madori of Hadejia senatorial zone, is now contesting for the seat of Senate comes 2023. And of course, we have a plan for that.
A chick that will grow into a cock will be noticed the very day it is hatched …a popular saying. Amb. Ahmad exhibited leadership quality in his previous positions, the dividends are visible Thus;
He uplifted the lives of many to many political positions, people like Hon. Baffa Maigari, Late Abdullahi T O, M Sabo Musa, Hon Jamilu Shehu Mujaddadi, and the incumbent Chairman Hon. Hussaini Umar BK, all as executive Chairmen of local govt. We also had people like Mati Akurya, Ibrahim Zakar GBS, and Muhd Akurya as local govts Secretaries. Ahmad promoted seven youth to serve as councilors.
Of recent, Ahmadu as chairman FMC Azare governing board, he influenced the appointment of about fourty four youth as permanent staff of the hospital, in addition to some others who are in other sectors. Despite all the opposition and criticism, the political history of an illustrious son of Malam Madori, a politician cum legal practitioner, who turned out to be a betrayer, will never be complete without mentioning Amb. Ahmad Abdulhamid and Governor Badaru Abubakar like it or not.
Amb. Ahmad facilitates the appointment of Yusif Nadabo permanent commissioner SIEC Barr. Yusif Mato Commissioner Ministry of Environment (four years) commissioner Judiciary Service Commission (four years). He also aided in the appointment of the Commandant of Civil Defence, Muhd Madachi (Cross Rivers) Commandant Yusif Kaugama (Gombe) Asst. Commandant, Sidi A Hadejia (Katsina), Deputy Commandant, Usman Nera as well as Asst. Commandant General Sarki Bayaya.
He sponsored the installation of a national grid substation in Hadejia and connected about eight villages and towns with the national grid in Malam Madori LGA. so on and on and on ……What else do you need from a politician, a leader, a representative???
