Cholera Outbreak: NGO Donates Medical Items to Jigawa Gov’t

HOTPEN – As part of it’s effort to compliment government efforts in the fight against cholera outbreak, the Action Against Hunger has donated support items worth several millions of naira to the Jigawa State Government.
The donation of the items was made through the Ministry of Health by the Field Officer, Action against hunger, Mr. Othanial Kigir
The items donated are meant to support the Jigawa State Government’s efforts in the fight against Cholera outbreak and also to help people affected by recent flood.

Items donated includes 780 pieces of plastics Jerrycan, 390 pieces of plastic bucket, 780 plastic cups, 4,656 All purpose soap.
Others include 8,580 Oral Rehydration Supplement, 1 bag of water Guard , 390 pieces of carriage bag and 6 drums of 45kg chlorine respectively.
Speaking while receiving the items, representatives of the ministry of health, expressed government gratitude for the support, adding that Action Against Hunger has been partnering with Jigawa state government for a very long time and the support is yielding positive impact on the lives of Jigawa people.
He reiterated the commitment of Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar led government to continue partnering with the organization and any development partners.
Hotpen reports that, there was a reported case of cholera outbreak in Auyo local government area of Jigawa state leading to the death of one person while scores are receiving medical attention.
