HOTPEN– The Acting Corps Marshal, Federal Road Safety Corps, Dauda Ali Biu has directed Commanding Officers nationwide to charge staff under their commands to be politically neutral as political activities directed at the 2023 general elections gathers force.
In a statement signed by Bisi Kazeem fsi, Assistant Corps Marshal, Corps Public Education Officer, FRSC Headquarters Abuja said the directive was issued in accordance to the FRSC (Establishment) act.
The act stipulates that “the status of the Corps as a public service agency does not have any political affiliation, but solely established to provide essential services to all citizens, irrespective of their political interests or representation”.
The acting Corps Marshal further instructed the Commanding Officers to deploy adequate personnels for easing traffic controls during the aforementioned political activities as well as to be aware of the struggles of road users and be ready to resolve any traceable gridlock that is bound to occur.
Dauda Ali however has assured the public that, the Corps’ are ever ready and committed to making roads safer at all times and admonished road users to always cooperate and abide by the provided road traffic regulations.
