HOTPEN – The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, has vehemently Denied some reports making rounds on social media claiming that its operatives in the Kano Zonal Command has invaded the residence of the Presiding Judge of the Court of Appeal, Honourable Justice Ita Mbaba at Nassarawa, GRA.
This, according to the Commission, is an attempt to create discomfort within the public and its at the instances of mischief makers.
In a statement signed by the Head of Media and Publicity of the Commission, Wilson Uwajeran the said, Operatives the EFCC Kano Zonal Command did not invade the residence of Hon. Justice Ita Mbaba in the state.
“The Operatives of the Commission indeed visited the property housing Justice Mbaba on a Property Verification exercise, owing to a subsisting matter involving the owner of the property. There is no truth, linkage or nexus with any investigation of the Hon. Justice of the Court of Appeal.”
Uwajeran added that, available facts have revealed that Mbaba is not the owner of the property and therefore could not be the subject of any investigation by the Commission.
He noted that the Commission has stressed that it holds the Judiciary in optimum respect and will do nothing to embarrass any officer of the court.
Uwajeran appealed to the general public to disregard any Information which is not from the official communication channel of the EFCC in order to avoid throwing doubt into the minds of the public.
