HOTPEN – To Mark this year’s International Day of the Girl Child, with the theme “Our Time Is Now – Our Rights, Our Future.” The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate in Jigawa state, Dr. Mustapha Sule Lamido has felicitated with all the girls in Jigawa state and Nigeria at large.
In a statement signed by Umar Kyari Madamuwa, the Deputy Director of Media and Publicity, Santuraki Campaign Directorate said Mustapha Sule Lamido is committed to the safety and development of the girl child.
The statement revealed that “Access to education, health care services, skill-based learning facilities and economic empowerment are keys to safeguarding the girl child against gender-based violence.”
Madamuwa added that the Gubernatorial candidate, in his episode of “My For Vision for Jigawa State” stressed his will to provide free education to the girl child if elected comes 2023.
“I will provide free Education from Primary to secondary level for girls in Jigawa state, if elected governor of Jigawa state in the forthcoming 2023 general elections”
“Also orphaned girls will have their sponsorship extended up to Tertiary level”
“In addition scholarships will be paid for students of special and professional programmes in the field of Medicine, Engineering, Law and other key programmes. First class graduates will be considered for automatic employment” Dr. Mustapha hinted.
Dr. Mustapha on Health Sector, pledged to sponsor the training of the girl child on health-related programs so as to address the shortage of female medical personnel in the state.
