HOTPEN – Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar will present the 2023 appropriation bill to the Jigawa State House of Assembly next week.
In a joint press briefing shortly after a weekly council meeting, the commissioner of Information Youth, Sports and Culture and that of Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Alhaji Bala Ibrahim and Babangida Umar Gantsa.
According to the Information Commissioner, the budget will be the last to be presented by Governor Muhammed Badaru as he bows out of office comes May 2023.
“Governor Badaru hopes to finish strong and consolidate the gain of the past years in sectorial achievements that have propelled the state to an enviable height among its contemporaries” the Commissioner added.
On his part, The Commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economics, Babangida Umar Gantsa, said the 2023 appropriation bill was approved by the economic planning board and subsequently by the state executive council on Wednesday.
He further stated that after the budget presentation by Governor Mohammed Badaru Abubakar to the State House Assembly, the ministry will present the detailed budget breakdown to the public a few days later.
Alhaji Babangida Umar also noted that the 2023 budget preparation was concluded earlier than the previous years because of the determination of Governor Mohammed Badaru to sustain the January to December budget cycle.
