HOTPEN – People’s Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman, Chief Iyorchia Ayu has commended Bauchi state Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed for the tumultuous reception he recently gave the Atiku/Okowa Presidential campaign team when it was in Bauchi for consultation with stakeholders.
He told the Bauchi Governor, “You turned the reception into a show of strength, how strong the party is in Bauchi. You stimulated the campaign of the PDP so much. The Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium (ATBS) was full of excitements, and even outside the stadium has more people than inside”.
Ayu was speaking Saturday when some members of the PDP campaign council led by the Director-General and Governor of Sokoto State, Rt. Hon Aminu Tambuwal to the Bauchi Government House as part of its North East tour for consultation with party stakeholders.
The PDP national chairman noted that the recent Bauchi reception organized by the state governor clearly demonstrated that PDP is very strong in the state, and the people of Bauchi are truly behind his exemplary leadership.
He further told the governor that they also in Bauchi to brief him about some of the developments that were going on in the party nationally, and to seek his wise counsel as, according to him, “You are not only a Governor, but a very experienced leader in the country.
“In all the places you have served you gather the experience, and we feel people like you in this campaign we need to come around you from time to time to consult, brief you and discuss with you. So basically that is the reason with this visit, and thank you for the wonderful reception you accorded us”.
The PDP Campaigns Council which some top hierarchy of the party including the Jigawa state former governor, Hon. Sule Lamido had a two-hour discussion with the Bauchi State Governor, Senator Bala Mohammed who is also the Deputy Chairman of the Campaign Council (North).
Governor Bala Mohammed briefed the press after the two-hour meeting of the PDP Chieftains saying, “This powerful delegation of PDP and Atiku/Okowa campaign team was in Bauchi for consultation with stakeholders to strategize on the electioneering campaigns”.
“We have discussed issues affecting especially my area as vice chairman of the presidential campaign council in charge of the north, so they came up with issues regarding some grey areas that we cross the teeth and eyes but which are not for public consumption”, the governor concluded.
