The Katsina state All Progressives People Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda has on Sunday concluded his tour of the Daura senatorial District with a grand rally at Kankia.
Kankia is home to the Director General of the state APC campaign council, Arc. Ahmad Musa Dangiwa as well as the current Senator representing the zone, Ahmad Baba Kaita who recently defected to People Democratic Party (PDP).
This was contained in a statement that was signed and issued to HOTPEN by Adamu S. Ladan, Member of the Media and Publicity Committee, APC Campaign Council, Katsina State on Sunday.
According to Malam Adamu, The event marked the end of the first leg of the state-wide tour scheduled by the state APC campaign council.
Adding that, The tour which commenced two days after flag-off of the campaign at Faskari, took off from Baure local government area on Wednesday, December 5th.
“The campaign train had been to all the electoral wards of the 12 local government areas in the senatorial district without a recessed”
“The candidate and his entourage have spent a night in each of the local government areas where consultations were held with the locals, a move which the residents described as spectacular” He explained.
Malam Ladan notes that, among highlights of the tour was the decamping of more than 14,000 members of PDP, NNPP and PRP to the APC in Mashi and Kankia Local Government Areas.
“The Sunday rally was unique as it was attended by the state governor, Rt. Hon Aminu Bello Masari” He indicated.
Addressing the mammoth crowds which brought Kankia to a standstill, Masari extolled the virtues of the party as well as the qualities of its candidates and urged the people to vote for the party.
Speaking also, Dr. Radda said the tour had so far given him further opportunity to reassess the peculiarities of each community and will help in reshaping his programmes for the people.
Overwhelmed by the large crowds at the rally, the candidate reiterates his commitment to deal fairly with every segment of the state and reassured the crowd not shortchanged nor allow people of the state to be shortchanged.
He further reeled out his plan which according to him would bring rapid development to the state. He enumerated his priorities to include, improvements on security, education, healthcare, agriculture, the economy and jobs creation as well as welfare for women and youths.
While commending the APC and people of the state for embracing the culture of peace and tolerance, he particularly singled out the youths in the entourage for civil and exemplary conduct throughout the tour.
He said it’s now a new down where politicians should sell their manifesto than export violence, noting that the campaign was conducted in a serene atmosphere devoid of any unpleasant circumstances.
HOTPEN reports that, Dr. Radda’s entourage includes, the APC Deputy Gubernatorial candidate, Hon Faruk Jobe, the campaign council led by the Director General, Arc. Ahmad Musa Dangiwa, APC leadership, members of the state executive council, state and federal legislators, local government chairmen, candidates of various positions and party faithful among others.
