The Katsina state All Progressives People Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda has picked holes with those playing politics with the issue of insecurity in the state.
Dr. Radda spoke as he resumed his state wide tour with Katsina senatorial District.
This was contained in a statement that was signed and issued to HOTPEN by Adamu S. Ladan, Member of the Media and Publicity Committee, APC Campaign Council, Katsina State.
According to Ladan, The Gubernatorial candidate said, ironically those charging the current administration with issue of insecurity were the very architects of the problem.
The candidate who resumed the tour on Monday said poverty, unemployment as well as the concomitant economic disparity and deprivation fueled by the PDP’s sixteen years rule was what caused terrorism and criminality in Nigeria.
He said the electorates should not be deceived by those who caused and benefit from their misfortunes.
He alleged that PDP’s bad governance which brought about ethnic conflicts, poverty, diseases, injustices, human rights abuses and environmental degradation was Nigeria’s main source of insecurity.
Dr. Radda further explained that the present administration did not only inherit a government with these intractable problems but also the attendant mass unemployment and overstretched, inadequate as well as poorly maintained infrastructure to deal with.
He however said both Federal and Katsina state governments have responsibly responded with various programmes aimed at eradicating poverty and addressing the problems of infrastructure and insecurity in general.
He specifically pointed out the government empowerment programmes, which include, conditional cash transfers, schools feeding scheme, agricultural loans schemes and SMEs supports which he said have provided more incomes, decent jobs and savings for the people.
These programmes he explained if sustained will further guaranty a better future for the citizenry.
The candidate while commensurating with victims and families of insecurity he also charged the people not to despair as government will continue to do everything possible to deal with the situation.
He therefore urged the people to elect APC in order to ensure continuity of its lofty human development programmes.
If elected Dr. Radda assured that his administration will deal with banditry frontaly, and institute more pro-poor programmes that offer multiple interventions across different sectors of the society.
He revealed some of his policies and strategies to include; development and support of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) where at least 200,000 new jobs would be created annually.
Others he said are, the development and support of agricultural and allied industries through investments guarantee, building technical and organisational capacity of farmers as well as Promotion of agricultural extension services.
“The government I would lead, will truly reflect the needs and aspirations of the people.” He stressed.
He then urged the electorates to join what he described as the train of service to the people for the continued development of Katsina state.
Dr. Radda who resumed the tour Monday has visited four out of the twelve local government areas in the Katsina Senatorial Zones where mammoth crowds received him and his entourage.
