The Katsina State Government, in collaboration with the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC laid the foundation for a modern mechanic training centre at Hassan Usman Katsina Polytechnic, Katsina state.

During the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of three blocks of hostel accommodation with a capacity of about 360 people,
Masari noted that the land for the project was provided by the state government while NADDC took care of the building construction and will also be responsible for providing the centre with all the needed facilities.
“The world is moving and it’s moving fast. It’s no longer a spanner and hammer issue; it’s computers and brains are now deployed to address issues, especially in automobiles.
“That’s why today, you can see an 18-year old-driving a 45 and 60 turner and maneuvering it with only one hand, because technology has changed over a period where the steering system was not hydraulically controlled.
“For you to remain relevant, you have to learn modern skills, otherwise you will be left idle with your spanners and hammers doing nothing or very little,” Masari said
