The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria in conjunction with National Union of Petroleum and Gas Workers Zamfara State Chapters have resolved to work in close synergy with the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command in order to regulate the pump prices of Premium Motor Spirit in Gusau metropolitan.

Speaking during an expanded meeting with the State Commandant of the Corps, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu at the Command State Headquarters Gusau, the State IPMAN Chairman Alh. Sirajo Yahaya Kamba who led the delegations of IPMAN said that the Association has hitherto enjoyed a robust working relationship with the Corps since inception .
He said that the goal of the Association is to see how the masses could access the petroleum products without much ado.
The Chairman therefore reiterated that, IPMAN would stop at nothing to make petroleum products available to the general public at affordable prices, especially with in Gusau metropolitan.
Alh. Sirajo Yahaya Kamba extolled the doggedness of the Corps in fighting vandalism and diversion of PMS. He however craved for a water tight synergy between the Corps and IPMAN in regulating the pump prices of petroleum products in Gusau metropolitan.
Also, the leadership of NUPENG led by Alh. Shuaibu Muh’d reiterated that both organizations are saddled with the responsibilities of assisting the general public in making sure that the endemic hardship occasioned by the scarcity of petroleum products is ameliorated.
The State NUPENG boss who also doubled as Chairman PTD therefore calls for a working synergy between the Corps, NUPENG and IPMAN in other to cushion the endemic hardship occasioned by the scarcity of petroleum products.
Meanwhile, the State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps Zamfara State Command, Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu who is the convener of the meeting said he has acknowledged the basic fact that IPMAN and NUPENG are primary stakeholders in petroleum business, it is on this premise that he has decided to call on the leadership of the two Unions in order to fathom possible ways of regulating the pump prices of petroleum products in Zamfara State, especially in Gusau metropolitan.
Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu opined that it is the mandate of the Corps as enshrined in the 2007 acts as amended to regulate the activities of petroleum marketers and to prevent any perceived act of vandalism and diversion of PMS products.
Commandant Muhammad Bello Muazu therefore called on the duo Union to close ranks with the Corps to regulate the pump prices of petroleum products in the state and also help in the fight against insecurity and vandals.
Meanwhile the Chairmen of the two Unions agreed to assist in regulating the pump prices of petroleum products in Gusau metropolitan in line with the request of the Corps.
They also reiterated their resolve to always collaborate with the Corps in order to achieve the desired objectives.
