Governor Bello Mohammed MON Matawallen Maradun today presented 450 Motorcycles to four industrial unions in Zamfara State in fullfillment of an earlier promise he made to support all labour and trade unions in the state.
The unions include Amalgamated motorcycle Association known as Kabu-kabu who received one hundred and fifty Motorcycles, Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, and Medical and Health Workers Union of Nigeria Zamfara State chapters who received one hundred Motorcycles each.
Speaking while presenting the motorcycles to the unions, the Director General of APC Gubernatorial Campaign Council in the state who represented Governor Bello Matawalle at the occasion, Senator Tijjani Yahaya Tafidan Kaura said this was part of the efforts of Governor Bello Matawalle to put smiles on the faces of members of the working class and other trade unions in order to boost their morale and productivity.
He said the motorcycles were given to them free of charge as part of Government’s commitment to meet the yearnings and aspirations of civil servants and commercial riders in Zamfara State.
The Director General called on the benefitting Associations to make the best use of the motorcycles and at the same time to rally round the administration of Governor Bello Matawalle for the development of the state.
Earlier, the state APC Chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani said the motorcycles and other logistics support will continue to be given to different categories of workers, trade unions, and people of the state for them to appreciate the dividends of democracy.
In their vote of thanks on behalf of the beneficiaries, the state chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE, Comrade Sanusi Isah Gusau and the Chairman Nigeria Union of Teachers NUT Comrade Maikano Sani Maru thanked the Governor for the gesture and assured to reciprocate by being more dedicated to their duties.
The occasion was attended by the Secretary of the state APC Campaign council, Professor Abdullahi Muhammad Walin Shinkafi, state APC Chieftain, Alhaji Usman Dankalili Tafidan Bakura, Special Adviser to the Governor on political Affairs and inter party relations, Alhaji Ibrahim Ma’aji and state APC publicity Secretary Alhaji Yusuf Idris Gusau among other top dignitaries.
