Jigawa State Governor, Muhammad Badaru has received 60 medical students that were sponsored by the state government to study medicine in China.
Governor Badaru equally directed for the immediate employment of 32 out of the 60 beneficiaries who have completed their studies.
The governor issued the executive directive when some of the students visited him to thank him for the support and opportunity his administration offered them in 2016.
Speaking to newsmen, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Health, Dr. Salisu Mu’azu, said 28 beneficiaries are still undergoing medical certification processes in Nigeria.
The permanent secretary explained that, apart from the 60 returning medical students who graduated from the Chinese university, the state government also sponsored 160 students, out of the number 100 were female to study various medical courses in Sudan last year.
Said he:- “The policy was aimed at producing manpower that will manage the newly facilities in the state”.
Hotpen reports that, it was in 2016, Jigawa state government selected 60 students meritoriously across the constituencies in the state for medical study and they have returned home after six years of extensive medical studies.
