The Nigeria labour congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC, strongly condemned and expressed their dismay over the nonchallant attitude of the Zamfara state government to pay salary of its workers for two consecutive months.
This is contained in a joint statement signed by Comrade Sani Halliru chairperson NLC Zamfara State Council and Comrade Saidu Mudi Chairman TUC Zamfara state Council made available to Hotpen in Gusau Wednesday.
The two unions stated that haven patiently waited for the salary to be paid, the two labour centers therefore as a matter of responsibility request the state government to save lives of workers and that of their families who heavily relies on salary and being their legitimate earnings and their statutory rights to with immediate effect pay the salary with a view to alleviating their hardships.
“The NLC/TUC have understood and are concerned about how aggrieved state civil servants are, however, we crave for your indulgence, support and cooperation as we move to fight for your rights, therefore we urge you to be more patient and persevere”. The statement read
