A seasoned educationalist and community development mobilizer, Hajia Hauwa Aliyu has been appointed as Commissioner Representing Jigawa State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC).
Hotpen reports that, already Nigeria’s Senate has screened and confirmed her appointment with immediate effect, Hauwa Aliyu popularly known as Hauwa Birniwa, a Fulani by tribe and native of Birniwa local government area of Jigawa state, obtained her first degree in Education from the prestigious BUK, Post graduate Diploma in Community Health from AMREF University Nairobi Kenya.
She equally obtained her Postgraduate studies in Education, Health Promotion and International Development from University College London (UCL), MSc Sustainable Development from University of Sussex.
Hauwa Birniwa is a woman of substance and philanthropist and currently undergoing her PhD in International Education and Development at the University of Sussex.
She is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Iya Hauwa Foundation, a foundation supporting and empowering rural and nomadic/pastoralists communities in Northern Nigeria through education, health and life skills development opportunities.
Hauwa Birniwa, a seasoned educationalist per excellence and community development mobilizer that ensures the commitment and involvement of local authorities and community members in the implementation of sustainable development initiatives.
She have significant experience in working with Development Partners, particularly, UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) Programmes as a full-time and short- term consultant (most times on pro-bono basis) in the education and health sectors.
One of her community-based education and community development experiences is working with nomads/pastoralists in Nigeria.
She is currently volunteering for many organizations for the development of her country.
Birniwa, a trustee of Hadejia Ina Mafita Initiatives (HIMI), Arewa development and support development initiatives (ADSI), Hanan Buhari Foundation (HBF) and the Secretary of Fulbe-Global Development Right Initiatives (FGDRI).
