It is baffling that the current baby leadership of governor Dauda Lawal Dare has no focus and is confused with his spokesman who was drafted from Kano state wallowing in ignorance and following his boss to hide under baseless political attacks to display their ineptitude in governance.
Initially they tried to fly a kite through their social media handlers in order to see public reaction on the questionable wealth of the governor by declaring his having acquired nine trillion naira in his less than 15 years banking history and even his setting up of Credent Capital and Advisory Limited with Munir Umaru Baba, the Code of Conduct Bureau has more work to open up investigations on his source of income, these forced an immediate retrieval of that information which had left Zamfara people still pondering over.
His people quickly changed gear from saying immediate past governor Matawalle stole television sets, computers and air conditioners from the government house which was found to be untrue to allegations of leaving an empty treasury and having left with vehicles worth billions of naira.
This is another failed move by the Dauda Lawal administration because no outgoing government leaves without handing over documents and these have been done with Dauda fully represented by a transition committee he personally selected the membership and after the assignment, he personally received the document from the immediate past Deputy Governor, Senator Hassan Muhammad Nasiha at the Government House, we challenge the governor and his government to make all these documents available for public scrutiny including the N20.5 billion and 1.977 million USD handed over to them and then deny having received same.
Similarly, it is a known fact and adage that ‘those coming for justice must have clean hands’ and ‘charity begins at home,’ this is why we want one of the governor’s aides, Shattiman Rijiya to start by explaining to Zamfara people how he went to Abuja and disposed off a brand new state owned government bus at the cost of over N27 million, part of the reasons Shattiman Rijiya fell out with Governor Matawalle who insisted that the vehicle must be returned to Zamfara people.
In their blind haste for political attacks, the governor or his representatives failed to read the content of the memo raised for the purchase and allocation of the vehicles but went ahead to share it and consequently embarrassing themselves.
For the sake of clarification however, the contents clearly explained that the vehicles were to be distributed to MDAs and some deserving individuals across the state.
If they are ready to verify we expect them to liaise with the MDAs to know the whereabouts of the vehicles instead of disturbing the governor Matawalle who is moving ahead with his life.
People of the state are being killed and kidnapped but the governor didn’t show any concern as he abandoned the state to attend meetings in Abuja and Bauchi which is clearly showing nonchalance and irresponsibility of the leadership to the plight of Zamfara rural dwellers in particular and the citizens in general.
