Kano government house press crew in disarray as incapability is vividly seen among the professional saddled with responsibility of manning the core unit.
Hotpen reports that, those incharge are either incapable of discharging their duties or deliberately refused to do what is required from them, the situation led to the speculations as to how KNSG can totally overhall the press unit.
Moreso, the KNSG Press crew debacle exposed professional incapability, and if the situation continues like this, nobody knows what it will fortend at this crucial moment. Hence, the need to tackle the menace.
Media speculate that what transpired last Friday at a public function vividly expounded the fact that there was a shortage of capable personnel to man this important unit.
Anonymous source revealed that Governor’s pressmen are either short of maturity or language proficiency required for public engagement. The gab created by their inability to do the needful embarassed the government to such an extent that scouting for an efficient Master of Ceremony (MC) is said to be on top gear.
A press peepingtom sensationalized the fact that, ‘there have been several attempts to return a veteran public speaker, Aminu Kabir Yassar, having known his impressive performance while working with former directors of press and public relations at the Government House for two decades.
Yassar awaits the announcement of his duty post by the head of service, as often speculated in the media circle. Eventhough he left the Government House at the end of tenure of the last administration.
The Governor appointed his Government House media handlers with aim of appeasing who stand by him throughout his struggles and during the campaign periods.
He appointed Sanusi Bature as his Chief Press secretary. Bature was however said to be compensated for his enduring relatationship with governor, he had many atimes issued statements on behalf of the governor since 2019.
Hisham Habib, the acting Chief Press secretary to stand in for Bature who travelled to Saudi Arabia as head of the media team, had to be compensated having lost his position as the erstwhile chairman of NNPP as he surrendered to Kwankwasiyya movement to take over.
A source close to the government revealed that Habib may be confirmed to replace Bature as CPS, while Bature may be deployed to head one of the government owned media outfits in the state.
The government is in dilemma as far as press Unit is concerned, this more glaring as Sanusi Bature has indicated that he will not work with the existing press crew. He insisted that he will be more comfortable only with social media flat forms” a source told Hotpen.
Whatever the case, there is need to find a means of proper media engagement between the KNSG and the general public, but failure to take the right course of action embarrassment will be revealed to the government in its dealings with the press and the public.
