The Zamfara-based Non Governmental Organization (NGO), Voluntary Aid Initiative (VAI) has sensitized 120 teachers in fight against Sexual Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in Zamfara.
The Executive Director of the NGO, Mr Musa Umar stated this while fielding questions to newsmen in Gusau Sunday.
According to him, the sensitization was conducted in collaboration with the UKAid funded NGO and International Alert respectively.
He said a total of 120 teachers from Public and Islamic Schools from four communities of Tsafe, Birnin-Magaji, Bilbis and Nasarawar-Godal were reached.
His words, “ The activity is aimed at sensitizing the school teachers on SGBV prevention and how they can champion campaigns against SGBV in the community”.
He pointed out that part of the outcome of the sensitization, the participants have expressed commitment to take the campaign by utilizing networks and platforms in their respective communities.
