The Jigawa state government has signed a Memorandum of understanding with Industrial Training Fund (ITF) for the training of youth in the state.
Speaking at the occasion of the MoU signing held at Dutse Government House, Governor Umar Namadi raised concern on the urgent need for governments and stakeholders at all level to join hands in addressing Youth restiveness through skills training and empowerment otherwise the country is sitting on a time bomb.
Governor Namadi explained that, the number of teaming youth in the country without work to do is a source of concern to any responsible leader and good person in the nation.
The governor noted that, the security challenges disturbances and other social vices are product of poverty and unemployment, added that, with emphasis to skill training and empowerment the narration can be change to good.
He said “As part of my 12 point agenda which include youth training and development I found ITF as a reliable and worthy partners.
“ITF has all the expatriates, skills and reputation to source and train youth on any skills jobs around the glob, I am optimistic this MoU we signed today will facilitate the achievement of our desire goals”.
Speaking earlier, Director General Industrial Training Fund, Mr Joseph Ari said, the Nigeria’s population is a comparative advantage to the nation if youth receive properly training and equip with the skill, but any thing short of that it will not auger well to the future of the nation.
The Director General assured Jigawa state government that ITF is ever ready to provide it’s best in the area of training Jigawa youth with all skills of their choice and also supported them in becoming productive and self reliant.
