The Jigawa state, State Executive Council has approved the payment of examination registration fees for 41,358 final year students across various Secondary Schools in the State.
Hotepn reports that 34,210 for SSCE/NECO students, while NBAIS- 6,571 students, NABTEB- 531 students and BECE-46 candidates respectively are to benefit from the state government kind gesture.
The state gvernor Malam Umar A. Namadi chaired the meeting as part of his commitment to restructure the education sector in the state.
Total sum of N725,272,611.25 is to be paid through Ministry of Higher Education for the immediate payment of the fees.
Council in session has equally approved Memo presented by the Ministry of Basic Education amounting to N697,892,479.57 for the payment of 2023 1st and 2nd Quarter UBEC/SUBEB various intervention projects in the state.
The fund will be expended from the proposed action plan which includes 156 new classrooms, Renovation of 221 classrooms, 40 Blocks of 4 cubicle toilets, 68 Handpumps, Boreholes and supply of 14,016 sets of class room furniture and wall fences.
The council has also approved the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA) disbursement of N84,510,750.00 for the direct facility financing to 281 accredited Primary Health Centre across the 281 political wards in the State for the 3rd quarter of 2023.
The dedicated amount for each facility would be the sum of N300,750.00 for the quarter.
The PHC are going to utilize the fund for procurement of drugs and other basic services to their respective community.
