The Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has organised a two-day workshop for desk officers in the North East sub-region on TETFUND intervention programme in the beneficiary institutions.
In his welcome address in Gombe on Tuesday, Executive Secretary TETFund Mr. Sonny Ochono said the workshop was expected to bridge the gaps that existed between the Fund and their beneficiary institutions regarding their procedures and processes regarding all their intervention lines.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the theme of the workshop was “Improving TETFund Intervention Programmes and processes in beneficiary Institutions”
Represented by Dr. Yusuf Gamawa Asst. The Director Strategic Planing and Development Department said, the Desk Officers were the interface between the beneficiary institutions and the Fund regarding all activities and interventions from the beginning to the end.
“Because they are responsible for the day-to-day operations that exist between the Fund and the institutions, and are therefore positioned strategically to perform tasks and functions that require that they are fully informed on the nature and methods of TETFUND operations always.
“We, therefore, expect them, at the end of the workshop, to be fully equipped and knowledgeable about our guidelines and mandate.
The executive secretary urged the participants to utilise the platform and discuss some issues affecting their institutions and TETFUND intervention lines and come with a solution on how they can improve.
He said, Tetfund had an engagement with beneficiary institutions to gather valuable feedback on their intervention project among other areas.
