The wife of Jigawa State Governor, Hajia Hadiza Umar Namadi has visited sickle cell and VVF patients at Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital and Jahun General hospital in Dutse and Jahun LGAs respectively of Jigawa State.
The duo visit was part of Her efforts to get rid of sickle cell desease and VVF infection in Jigawa State, under the able leadership of the Jigawa State Governor Mallam Umar A. Namadi.
Hajia Hadiza Namadi advised young couples to undergo genotype test before getting marriage and emphasized upon the need for parents to avoid marrying their daughters out at early ages.
She explained the reason behind her advice, saying this is in order to reduce the spread of the sickle cell disease and VVF infection in the State and nation at large.
Her words:-“It is also in line with the above that the State government introduced free girl child education as well as free VVF surgery, which help in curtailing the menace of the VVF infection.
“Additional working tools were also provided to further equip the VVF surgical units in the hospitals among others”.
Hotpen reports that, the visit of the Governor’s Wife has made the patients to be happy and expressed their delight for the kind gesture.
