The Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) has reiterated its commitment to take the profession to promise land.
National President of the institute Dr. Ike Neliaku stated this at the institute’s Annual General Meeting 2023 and public lecture held in Kano.
Dr. Ike explained that NIPR as a profession body has a vital role to play in the growth and betterment of this country.
The National President congratulated the newly Kano state executives and advised them to serve the institute base on collective attitude.
He also applauded the efforts of the outgoing executives for running the institute professionally and completing their tenure successfully, urged them to support the new exco to take the institute to the next level.
In his speech, the outgoing State Chairman, Aminu Hamza explained that the institute had concluded arrangement with Kano state government through ministry of information for the onward registration and induction of qualified information officers and public Relations officers who were not members of NIPR.
Speaking earlier, Kano state governor Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf through state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Baba Halilu Dantiye said the government will do all the necessary support and cooperation to the institute in the state.
The Royal Father of the day His highness the Emir of Kano Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero called on the members of the institute to always be abide by the ethics of the profession.
In his vote of thanks, the council member Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule thanked all those that attend the meeting especially state members of the institute that conducted the election newly executives through consensus.
Dr. Sule Ya’u also described the meeting as August gathering attended by Two of the institute national presidents, the immediate past president Malam Muktar Sirajo and the present one Dr. Ike Neliaku and other dignitaries.
Highlight of the occasion include paper presentations by different scholars such as Professor Abdulla Uba Adamu from Department of information and media Studies, Bayero University, Kano with Title: “Artificial intelligence and Spin- Doctorine in public Relations Practice in Nigeria: Prospect and Challenges.
The newly Inaugurated Exco are, Aliyu Yusuf as chairman. Isma’ila Ammai Maizare Vice Chairman. Usman Gwadabe as Secretary.
Others are, Abdullahi Datti Abdullahi Treasurer. Abdullahi Hassan Financial Secretary. Muhammad Dahiru Idris Assistant Secretary. Samira Sulaiman PR executive and Ado Sa’idu Warawa will serve as Auditor.
