The newly Inaugurated Chairman of Radio,Television, Theather and Arts Workers Union (RATTAWU), Katsina State Council, Comrade Buhari Ibrahim Rafukka has solicits for the continued support of Governor Dikko Radda support for the rehabilitation of Mamman Shata Open Air Theather, KTTV and Culture Bureau.
Speaking at the occasion of the 6th Katsina State Trennial Delegates Conference, Comrade Buhari Rafukka said the call become imperative considering the ongoing rehabilitation and renovation of the famous Katsina Old Training College, added that the Mamman Shata Open Air Theather, the headquarters of Katsina State history and culture bureau and Katsina State television authority need to be rehabilitated for effective working environment.
Comrade Rafukka who was elected for the second term as Chairman of RATTAWU commended the administration of Governor Dikko Radda for the prompt payment of monthly salary and pension to the workers in the state, added that the relationship between the state government, national secretariat and RATTAWU is quite cordial and model for successful peace, progress , harmony and prosperity.
The second term Inaugurated Chairman of RATTAWU said under his stewardship they have denigrated personal interest and comfort at no instance did they compromised, shortchanged or mortgaged the interest of the council whose cause are obliged to championed.
His words:- “We have provided opportunity and space to evaluate the state of Nation, our struggles and critical self-examination to develop our repositioning agenda, commensurate programs of action, inspired by our motion and resolutions as a core mandate for the next leadership “.
He equally enumerated some of his last three years achievements as council chairman of RATTAWU as follows:-
*Promoting peace, harmony in the union
*Sustains financial statutory, obligation of the union
*Prompt remittance of chapter and national check up dues
*Purchase of official vehicle for RATTAWU
*Benefit from the housing scheme and motorcycles loan provided by NLC Katsina State Council.
*Conducted chapters elections for two consecutive tenure successfully.
*Sponsorship of ICT Diploma program training to RATTAWU members
*Securing of state council office, donated by HH, the Emir of Katsina.
*Establishment of cordial relationship with NLC and other union sisters
He commended the national leadership of the union and the state Exco of RATTAWU for their support and understanding which allows him to pilot the affairs of the union with focus, transparent and accountable, pledged to continue operating an open door policy and carry everybody alone.
