The Jigawa state commissioner of health Dr. Abdullahi Kainuwa has stressed the need for efficient child spacing, saying it enhances Maternal and health thereby contributing to the sustainable socioeconomic growth.
Dr. Kainuwa made this known speaking at the occasion to celebrate the 2023 world Contraceptive day held in Dutse, with a theme Advocating the ‘Power of Options’ said the importance of family planning as cornerstone of public health and development cannot be overemphasized, added that the world Contraceptive day is celebrating on September 26th of each year.
Said he:- “It is an occasion to emphasize the critical role that accessible, voluntary and quality family planning plays in promoting the overall health and well being of our communities.
“Access to a variety of Contraceptive options enables individuals to efficiently do child spacing, improve Maternal and child health, and contribute to sustainable socioeconomic development”
The Commissioner explained that, the ministry of health is committed at providing accessible, affordable and quality healthcare services to the people of Jigawa state.
According to Dr. Kainuwa, the ministry is equally working hard towards enhancing the overall health and well-being of the state’s residents, with focus on family planning and reproductive health as essential components of comprehensive healthcare delivery system.
He further encouraged all citizens of Jigawa state to take advantage of the”power options” by seeking more knowledge and services related to family planning.
Also speaking on behalf of development partners in the state, Comrade Mustapha Kurfi applauded the efforts made by the present administration of Governor Umar Namadi with the total support of the ministry of health in providing conducive atmosphere for Non Governmental Organizations in the state to effectively and efficiently operate.
He assured the state government of their continue support to partner in healthcare related matters for the development of the state and it’s citizens.
