The ASHH Foundation Institute for Bullying Management and Peace Puliding Education in Bauchi has graduated 155 students of Bullying Management and as Ambassadors of Peace Building.
Mrs Comfort Attah, Provost of the ASHH Foundation Institution, said during the graduation ceremony that it is a combined graduation ceremony of 2021 to 2023.
She noted that bullying was becoming a dangerous, life-threatening epidemic vulnerable children can hardly escape from that led to many disturbing results – mentally and physically – for affected victims.
“There have been many recent cases of bullying, especially among secondary school pupils, many of which have had damaging and irreparable consequences,” She noted.
The Provost explained that the Institution also promotes a mechanism for peace building in Schools which includes peace clubs guidance and counseling.
Attah urged the graduates to always be ambassadors of bullying management and peace bullying in their communities.
In her remark, Hajiya Jamila Dahiru State Commissioner for Education commended ASHHF institution for their efforts and commitment to tackle bullying and peace management in schools
“It is intimidating, coercing, hurting and harming a person making the person a victim for life time.
“It is on this note the government and other relevant agencies are creating awareness and putting measures to make sure that the menace of bullying stops especially among students where it is most prevalent.
“It is on this note that the Ministry strongly frowns at the act through the No Bully Policy”.
Dahiru further added that school managers and teachers are to come together to put an end to the physical and social bullying in our schools at all schools level,
She charged all school heads to put efforts in place to ensure all forms of bullying must not be condoned.
“The school environment must be safe, secure and conducive to ensure that students grow morally, socially, academically and physically.
“All school heads are directed to appoint guidance and counseling to address bullying at school by providing interventions for the students.
“As a Ministry we will ensure the implementation of this policy. We will also work to enhance the commitment on the establishment of peace clubs in our schools,” The Commissioner stressed.
