Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, wife of the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, chaired the 8th national conference on agriculture and the annual general meeting of the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (CSSN).

The conference themed “Sustainable Crop Production and Food Security Under the Emerging Environment Challenges in Nigeria” was organized by the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (CSSN) and held at the Faculty of Agriculture Complex, Federal University of Kashere, Gombe State.
Declaring the conference open, Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje said that the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (CSSN) is committed to championing and promoting agricultural production and economic growth in Nigeria.
She said, “As committed professionals, we are championing and promoting agriculture development and Nigerian economic growth through crop science study, research, and development.”
Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje admonished the participants, especially the scholars among them, to maintain healthy relationships among the members of society.
She added, “I urge you to utilize this great opportunity and benefit the most from this conference. Please ensure you meet with someone you have never seen to exchange contacts and ideas.”
Speaking, the Vice Chancellor of the university, Professor Umaru Pate, commended Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje for the assistance she is rendering to education across the country.
Umaru Pate said, “I have to commend Professor Hafsat Umar Ganduje, the former First Lady of Kano State, for her enormous contribution towards the deployment of education in Nigeria.
“It’s no longer a story that her husband, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, is a champion of education. These two have enormously invested in education.”
However, the National President of the Crop Science Society of Nigeria (CSSN), Professor M.I. Uguru, urged Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje to convey the prayers of the society of prioritizing agriculture in Nigeria as in other countries to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
