Kano State Government is planning to emulate Lagos State counterpart in establishing security and employment trust fund to combat insecurity and unemployment challenges bedeviling the state.
The Commissioner for Special Duties, Hajiya Amina Sani Abdullahi stated while briefing newsmen in her office on their study tour to Lagos State Security and Employment Trust Fund.
Hajiya Amina Sani who appreciates with the warm reception from the Lagos State Trust Fund said that, the state government is worrying about the current unemployment rate in the state though government is working tirelessly to arrest the situation.
She noted that, the ministry had forwarded the report of their study tour to government for next line of action calling on the people to support the move and pray for the sustainability of the government.
The Commissioner stated that, before establishment of the Trust Fund perhaps it will go into different scruitiny and some modifications to become suitable in accordance with our culture, tradition and religion.
In his remark, the Director Planning Research and Statistics, Alh. Ibrahim Muhammad Kabara who is the member of the study tour team said that, when establishing the trust fund it will operate in public private partnership (PPP) designed to provide additional equipment and logistics support to under funded Federal Security Agencies at the state level.
Alh. Ibrahim Kabara explained that, when establishing the trust fund it will contribute to the reduction of crime and insecurity as well as unemployment rate by providing entrepreneurship training and improve perception of public safety and increase investment in security equipment. This will reflect in strong upward trends in business investments in the general public confidence.
