The National Directorate of Employment NDE, Zamfara state branch, has trained 50 participants on basic national open apprenticeship scheme (B-NOAS) in the state.
Declaring the training skills open held at Malam Yahaya Gusau federal secretariat complex in Gusau Wednesday, the director general of the NDE, Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo said the training skills included, Fashion Design, Make up, Barbing Saloon, Computer and Shoe and Bag Making.
The director general who was represented by the state coordinator of the NDE, Hajiya Hamza Kolo Hadiza, stated that the scheme was Designed and implemented by NDE vocational skills development department (VSD) in order to assist youth both males and females to acquire marketable skills within the society.
Malam Abubakar Nuhu Fikpo stated that the fifty 50 Trainees undergoing the training would be paid a monthly stipend of N5,000 per month for the period of three months.
He further stated that the trainers will be paid for their services the sum of N5,000 per trainee in each month based on the number of trainees attached to the master-trainer.
In a goodwill message, the Permanent secretary Zamfara state ministry of youths and sports, Dr. Tukur Shehu commended NDE for empowerment programs to the teeming unemployed youths in the state.
He assured that, the state government through the state ministry of youths and spots will continue collaboration with NDE to uplift the living standard of youth in the state.
