The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC), Bauchi State Command, has arrested an alleged fake medical practitioner and a 25-year-old kidnap suspect in Bauchi State.
The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Ilelaboye Oyejide, stated this while parading the two alleged suspects on Wednesday in Bauchi.
He identified the ”medical doctor” as Usman Sadik Yelwa, a staff of Bauchi State Hospital Management Board, who worked with General Hospital, Misau.
He noted that the suspect was arrested following a diligent intelligence gathering bothering on his career.
Oyejide said: “We acted on the tips and information received and followed it up with the regulatory body, the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and verified that he is not a medical doctor.
“He claimed that somebody printed the certificate for him to parade himself as a medical doctor and confessed during investigation that he is not a medical doctor.”
The Commandant also said the command arrested one Mohammed Sani, who belongs to a kidnapping syndicate that has been terrorizing residents of Bauchi and Toro local government areas of the state.
“Following an intelligence tip off and gathering we arrested the suspect who belongs to a group of four hoodlums, who were arrested in Lafia, Nasarawa State.
“The suspects kidnapped their victim in Toro area and collected the sum of N2.5 million but later released the victim,” he said.
He said the Command was working assiduously to arrest other suspects who are on the run and bring them to book.
The Commandant however warned anyone who indulges in such habit to desist from it forthwith.
He further said that the suspects would be charged to court immediately after the investigation was concluded.
