Despite the decision of the Nigeria Labour Congress to embark on nationwide strike with effect from Monday midnight, workers in Jigawa state have ignored the strike and reported to their various places of work.
A visit to state secretariat Dutse laide bare that all the MDAs have their office in full attendance by staff with noticeable activities in full swings without fear of labour union action.
It is in view of this, the state governor Mal. Umar A. Namadi outsmarted Parliamentary Association of Nigeria (PASAN) to present his 2024 budget appropriation bill due to the strike action by the Association.

Governor Umar Namadi presented a budget of N298.14bn as 2024 budget, with 23% increase in the 2023 budget, the budget with a theme “Budget for a Greater Jigawa”.
Hotpen reports that, the 23% increase in the 2024 budget presentation is an indication that there is a positive and high increase in the monthly allocation of FAAC from the federal government released to state governments.
