The Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has led other state dignitaries in honour of fallen heroes of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration in the State.
The Armed remembrance event, which marked the climax of the 2024 Armed Forces Remembrance Day and Emblem Appeal Fund, was attended by several government officials, heads of security agencies, traditional rulers, members of the state branch of the Nigeria Legion and family members of the fallen heroes respectively.
Speaking shortly after the event, governor Buni paid glowing tribute to the fallen heroes who paid the supreme price in the fight against insurgency in the north east entirely.
Buni noted that the peaceful conduct of the commemoration without any hindrance, signified that peace has returned to Yobe in particular.
He charged the troops to show more patriotism and nationalism to sustain the peace currently enjoyed in the state entirely.
Activities during the event includes the release of white pigeons to signify peace across the state and the entire nation respectively.
The prayers were also offered by both Muslims and Christians military clerics for the repose of the souls of the fallen heroes and for the peace of Yobe state and the entire nation.
