The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria FRCN Staff attached to Pride FM Radio Station Gusau, Comrade. Abdulrazak Bello Kaura has emerged as National President of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Alumni Association.
Kaura emerged as National president during its first National convention, 41 years after establishment of the institution.
Abdulrazak Kaura who scored 124 to defeat his closest opponent Viashima Leonard who scored 112 votes as announced by the Chairman of the Association’s first convention Adhoc planning Committee, Mr Audu Yahwa.
“Abdulrazak Bello having scored the highest votes and met the requirements is hereby declared the winner and returned elected “. Audu Yahwa said.
Other contestants that returned unopposed were Hassan Bamidele, Vice President; Rimamyang Amos, Secretary; Ezekiel Luka; Assistant Secretary; Kabiru Ibrahim, financial Secretary; Abdulsabur Hassan, Treasurer; Idris Garba, Welfare officer and Olufemi Ebenezer as Publicity Secretary.
The federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda established in the year 1982 have over fifty thousand graduates of different disciplines.
During his remarks, Rector of the Polytechnic Engr. Muhammad Yahaya Bande congratulated the first executives for the victory.
He described the Alumni convention was long overdue after 41 saying there is need for Alumni to come up with initiatives of paying back to the Alma mater and support their members who need it.
In his acceptance speech, the National President of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda Alumni Association, Comrade Abdulrazak Bello Kaura said the association will work assiduously to ensure removal of Dichotomy between HND and Bsc.
“The Polytechnics most especially federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda produced well skilled graduates that can compete with their counterparts from any institution in Nigeria, why the Dichotomy” he asked.
“We shall strive to ensure elimination of the unnecessary dichotomy that is responsible for low number of technologists and causing decay in the country’s technological development. There the need to join hands with all stakeholders to succeed.
Abdulrazak Kaura urged all the Alumni members of the accord for his support and cooperation to excel in the struggles. More importantly to payback to the Alma mater and ensure improved enrollment in the Polytechnic that is having an excellent record of producing qualitative graduates.
He appreciated Rector of the institution Engr. Muhammad Yahaya Bande who championed the actualization of the Alumni Association of the over four decades of the establishment of the federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda.
