The Interim Management Officer of Wudil Local Government, Hajiya Bilkisu Yakubu Indabo, has announced a scholarship program for female science students in the local government area.
The scholarship program will benefit thirty female science students who are indigene of Wudil Local Government, to study at Nursing and Midwifery Schools in Kano, Madobi, Danbatta, Gezawa, and other health institutions.
Speaking at the occasion, Hajiya Bilkisu Yakubu Indabo explained the significance of the scholarship program and its impact on the educational development of the local government.
She maintained that under her administration, they had previously sponsored over two thousand Wudil indigene studying at Aliko Dangote University of Science and Technology in Wudil.
“This time, with the revenue generated from the local government, we have also awarded scholarships to female science students in the area”. The IMO added.
The scholarship program, according to Hajiya Bilkisu Indabo, was awarded based on merit, and beneficiaries were selected from various wards of the local government.
She pledged that once the beneficiaries complete their studies, they will be posted to their respective wards to serve their people, expressed her appreciation to Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf, Deputy Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, and the National leader of the New Nigeria People Party, Senator Dr Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, for their support and encouragement in serving the community, particularly in the field of education.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Children, and Disable, Hajiya Aishatu Lawal Saji, also commended the Interim Management Officer for her foresight and dedication to improving the education sector.
She also urged other Interim Management Officers in all the local government areas to emulate Hajiya Bilkisu Yakubu Indabo’s initiative.
